I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and continue to live and work in the city. I earned my BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Montserrat College of Art. Since graduating, I've worked in custom fabrication and woodworking-across sign making, picture framing, and furniture building. These jobs expanded my understanding of materials and construction, shaping the way I approach my art today.
I construct and paint shaped wooden panels and frames. Each piece begins with a design that moves in multiple directions, with the frame acting as an extension of the form rather than a boundary. My recent work draws from the industrial design and pop aesthetics that first sparked my creativity. The shapes I create come from both observation and invention-spontaneous ideas that mirror the individuality and irregularity of the forms themselves.
I often compare my process to composing music: the tape measure becomes my sheet music, my power tools become instruments, and each cut piece becomes a distinct sound. Brought together, they form a structurally precise and visually melodic whole.
