Mike Pelland was born in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, in 1976.
After graduating from Concordia University (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in 1999, he explores film and media arts. He collaborated on several projects as a 2D animator and video editor.
In 2011, he returned to studio work and focused on the visual arts.
Fascinated by the purity of graphic art, he explores themes of nostalgia and identity.
Such as his relationship to childhood. What has forged, marked and defined as an individual.
For him, collectively or individually, we carry the traces of our history. These imprints are defined physically,
emotionally or symbolically. They help to characterize what we are as human.
