Carlos-Andrés Boulais was born in Quebec in the city of Sherbrooke on January 14, 1981. Raised in a rigid and conservative environment where art is generally considered an eccentricity, he develops a passion for popular culture and particulary music .Self-taught, he chooses photography and sculpture as different techniques to express his resolutely Pop art. With a generally minimalist approach, he approaches the favorite topics of the style, such as icons, consumer products, repetition and death. Always looking for objects or images that are graphically interesting because of their shape, their colors or their symbolism. Through bright colors and often saturated, his works express irony, cynicism and chaos but also, paradoxically, hope.
