Carlos-Andrés​ ​Boulais​ ​was​ ​born​ ​in​ ​Quebec​ ​in​ ​the​ ​city​ ​of​ ​Sherbrooke​ ​on January​ ​14,​ ​1981.​ ​Raised​ ​in​ ​a​ ​rigid​ ​and​ ​conservative​ ​environment​ ​where​ ​art is​ ​generally​ ​considered​ ​an​ ​eccentricity,​ ​he​ ​develops​ ​a​ ​passion​ ​for​ ​popular culture​ ​and​ ​particulary​ ​music​ ​.Self-taught,​ ​he​ ​chooses​ ​photography​ ​and sculpture​ ​as​ ​different​ ​techniques​ ​to​ ​express​ ​his​ ​resolutely​ ​Pop​ ​art.​ ​With a​ ​generally​ ​minimalist​ ​approach,​ ​he​ ​approaches​ ​the​ ​favorite​ ​topics​ ​of​ ​the style,​ ​such​ ​as​ ​icons,​ ​consumer​ ​products,​ ​repetition​ ​and​ ​death.​ ​Always looking​ ​for​ ​objects​ ​or​ ​images​ ​that​ ​are​ ​graphically​ ​interesting​ ​because​ ​of their​ ​shape,​ ​their​ ​colors​ ​or​ ​their​ ​symbolism.​ ​Through​ ​bright​ ​colors​ ​and often​ ​saturated,​ ​his​ ​works​ ​express​ ​irony,​ ​cynicism​ ​and​ ​chaos​ ​but​ ​also, paradoxically,​ ​hope.
